Sejak bergabungnya Desainer terkenal Massimo Tamburini dari ducati maka Cagiva mito mengalami perombakan dari segi desain yg diberi nama cagiva Mito Evolusion 1 yg terinspirasi dari ducati 916 adalah desain dari massimo tamburini. Selain perubahan desain juga Dengan suspensi depan belakang marzocchi.
Cagiva mito adalah motor pertama yg dipakai Valentino Rossi pada tahun 1994(italian sport production) bersama dengan manager team claudio lusuardi. Yang kemudian pada tahun 96 direkrut oleh Aprilia.
